Despite the fact that the answer to this question is very logical and “tied” to the most unfavorable living conditions of animals with fur, knowledge of geography is unlikely to help answer it correctly. It would seem that the fur of a polar bear, fur seal, reindeer and polar fox could occupy the top positions of such a rating. In fact, the warmest fur is considered to be the fur of animals that are not related to habitats with the lowest temperatures on the planet.

It is believed that the quality of preserving and retaining heat is difficult to surpass the fur of beaver, fox and muton. But even among professional furriers, opinions about the warmest of furs are divided.

Since the fur industry does not undertake to produce some of the mentioned furs (deer, polar bear) on an industrial scale, products made from them can only be seen on the natives of the corresponding region. Until recently, the bear-deer series continued with the lynx, but since its numbers have declined to population-threatening levels, the lynx has become less frequently mentioned in the fur tabloids.
